Zion, San Rafael Swell & Various Utah Canyons 5/25-6/2/07

Ken and I are taking a short break from work and climbing with a 10-day canyoneering trip in Utah. We plan to meet up with Keith and some of his friends to run some classic canyons.

Church Dome & Dome Rock 5/19-5/20

Ken Hoffman, Ken Huston, Victor and I spent the weekend climbing in the Needles area. Church dome was gorgeous -- great views and lots of clean granite climbs. Amazingly, we were the only people there!! I had fun practicing gear placement on some sport-trad climbs. The photos below were taken by Huston.

Eva's Wedding & Saved by Culver City Brew Shop 5/13/07

After 6.5 yrs of being together, Eva and Rob got married yesterday. As the priest himself said in the ceremony "Well it's about time!!". He was a neat guy -- sang some songs in Hebrew and said some goofy things. Ken and I were responsible for the beer (we homebrewed a pale ale and a wheat beer for their wedding present), and a slight complication arose Saturday evening when we discovered that the CO2 tank was empty. After a few fruitless hours of attempting to reach welding shops it seemed like we would be buying Bud from the grocery store. Fortunately, the culver city brew shop had just installed CO2 tanks this past week, and we were able to refill our tank about an hour before leaving for the wedding.

Worked, but Ken went canyoneering! 5/12/07

Ken, Adam, Hieme (sp?), Lauren, Carrie, Mary-beth, Kevin and a couple others did CCC canyon. While canyoneering couldn't have been nearly as fun as doing stats, there are unfortunately no action photos of my Saturday adventures at the office. The photos below were shot by Kevin and there are more here.

Lost Arrow Spire, Yosemite 5/5/07

Jenny, Ken, Paul, Jeff and I climbed the lost arrow spire in yosemite this past weekend. It was my first time jugging a line and doing a tyrolean traverse. We had a blast, but it was a long day - 6:30am-1am, and Ken, Jenny, and I ended up doing the traverse in the dark! We were fortunate enough to have our very own professional photographer and for a limited time you can find more of Alex's photos here.

In addition to photography, Alex is gaining a reputation as a yosemite epic resolver. He helped rescue two friends last weekend who had the unfortunate experience of spending the night on a climb. On our trip he was crucial for fixing the lines for Ken's crossing. If you are planning an epic any time soon, you might want to check his availability. :) Thanks Alex!!
